I'm going to start highlighting breeding pairs for this upcoming kidding season!
I thought I'd start off with one of my most exciting/anticipated pairings, which is Haymaker Farm Countessa and Sweet DD BR Dark N' Stormy.
Tess is a 1/2 sibling to the 2024 ADGA Reserve National Champion, GCH Winning Streak O Eleanor Rigby 3*M! Tess has already proven herself in the ring as a junior, taking home a GCH & BJDIS. I expect with more maturity she will do fantastic in the ring. This year she took 3rd out of 5, placing behind 2 beautiful yearling first fresheners.
Stormy doesn't have quite as much data to back him up, but that is only temporary. His dam will be put on milk tests next year, and fingers crossed she gets her milk star, so Stormy will be a *B buck. His first kid crop this year was nothing short of amazing! Not only did he produce mainly doelings, but he improved so many traits with all the does he was paired with. I retained 2 doelings that I will be keeping dry and planning on showing next year. 1 of them took 6th out of 16 this year as the youngest doe in the class, by a long shot! I'm very excited for her future.
I expect these kids to be long and level throughout, have powerful brisket extension, stand on strong feet and legs, and of course, pack a powerful mammary system.
