Test driving the new (to us) bottle filling system we purchased with Vermont Working Lands Enterprise Initiative grant funds. We were able to upgrade our whole commercial kitchen from this bottle filler for our large format bottles, a vacuum filler for our small bottles, and a multitude of other upgrades related to labeling, candy making, and syrup preheating.

Once again, we're posting our 2025 maple season recap in the height of summer. I always say it's because I'm waiting for the USDA NASS data release in June, but the real reason is that it's hard work to put fingers to the keyboard, especially when the weather's nice. We've been bad lately about posting, but we hope to remedy that in 2025! We've been busy in the sugarhouse kitchen coming up with some great recipes and I think the latest one, maple candied bacon checks all the boxes except perhaps as a health food! Let us know what you think!

Earlier this year we received some help in the form of video support and filmed a few recipes. This project was enabled by the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development and was a huge help to us. It was a great learning experience and we had a lot of fun putting them together. We were excited over the St. Albans Maple Festival weekend to host Indiana sugarmakers and Purdue University Extension agents. They came with plenty of hard questions and it was a pleasure to share experiences with these sugarmakers from the mid-west!
