As Our 2025 Growing Season Comes to a Close

We want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who supported Artisan Acres this year — whether you stopped by the stand, shared a kind word, or chose to bring our produce, eggs, and honey to your table. Your encouragement and loyalty have meant the world to us.

After some reflection, we’ve decided to idle our growing plans for the 2026 season. Farming has always been a labor of love, and we’re taking a little time to put some extra “fun” in farming — to recharge, enjoy the land in new ways, and plan for what the future may bring.

While our fields take a rest, we’ll still be busy crafting personalized grave blankets for the winter season. It’s one of our favorite ways to stay connected and bring something meaningful to our community during the colder months.

Thank you again for being part of our journey and for supporting local agriculture here in Swartz Creek.

We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes here at Artisan Acres, and wanted to share some of the progress happening around the farm:
• We’re currently partnering with the MSU Extension Studies Program, providing space for fieldwork focused on pests and birds. Their research has been insightful.
• The berry hoop house is in the early stages of expansion. Just four months ago, this was a completely blank space—now it’s growing strawberries, with more to come as we continue improving the space.
• Our bee and pollinator areas are also seeing some exciting attention—we’re monitoring activity and looking at ways to support stronger habitat and healthier colonies. The pollinator plants are starting to bloom, and the sunflower patch is forming heads—a welcome sign of summer and a great resource for bees and beneficial insects.
• On the innovation front, we’re continuing to work out the quirks in our hydroponic table system, aiming for better consistency and function.
• The artwork on the barn is complete! It just needs a protective clear coat to finish.
