Hi, I’m Olivia Chaine. I’m 16, a junior at Fryeburg Academy, and an independent 4-H member in Oxford County. I’ve been in 4-H since I was a Cloverbud at age 5.

Last year, I caught a calf in the Fryeburg Fair calf scramble. I’ve spent the past year raising him, and now I get to bring him back to the fair for the 4-H auction. He’s a Simmental, already weighs over 1,400 pounds, and is the biggest steer I’ve ever brought to auction!

I’m also in my second year of the aviation program at school. Money from my steer sale will help me work toward my flight hour goals.

If you’re thinking about buying a steer or would like to support 4-H, I’d love for you to come meet him and bid. The 4-H Auction is Friday, October 9, at 11 a.m. in the Livestock Show Arena at Fryeburg Fair. You can message me if you have any questions. Thank you for supporting me and the other 4-H kids!

This time of the year is super chaotic- it is when we have the most animals before they go to market or to their new homes…
Then there is work, sports, indoor animals, family, friends, fair prep and every single other thing…this is usually where the train falls off the rails…
With that said 2026 has been nothing short of disaster after disaster in all areas of our lives.
So when small things happen like the goats breaking their fence and free ranging themselves, it doesn’t even really feel like a problem. 🤷🏻‍♀️
The upside? They did not jail break the emus and they mowed the grass.

There was actually a reason behind the “Disney Planes” names this year.

Ripslinger and El Chupacabra are Ollie’s first bull calves born and raised here at Wandering Willow Farm.

This year at the Fryeburg Fair 4H auction and next year when the time comes to sell them as steers- Ollie is hoping to put that money toward her flying goals.

Turns out cows and airplanes aren’t such an odd combination after all.
Today she was flying with her Advanced Aviation class at Fryeburg Academy.

When Ollie has soccer, Matthew takes on bull calf exercise duty… and apparently everyone has feelings about it.

Ripslinger is NOT handling weaning well and is currently making sure the entire town knows about his emotional distress.

Meanwhile, Odie is absolutely no help walking around like he’s been assigned to personal security.

Just another peaceful evening at Wandering Willow Farm.
