Last doe kidded today 2 does (1 DOA) and one buck I am so glad to be over with kidding season we had way too many DOA kids I always think what could I have done different did I do something wrong when we loss any kid I beat myself up and when you loss more then a couple in a kidding season you think what am I doing wrong most were just multiple kids in bad positions maybe if I had got to them sooner I could have got them out alive some I was right there when Mom was pushing them out and I am not sure what I could of done different at least kidding season is over and I can start fresh next year hope and pray we have less DOA kids kid count
8 does only retaining one or two

Good morning all ponderosa kidded last night very minimal assistance all came out positioned correctly two bucks and one doe all are doing well

Well spice kidded early this morning like 2:00am of course always during the time I am sleeping it almost never fails she had a buck and doe unfortunately the big buck was in a bad position and after a lot of effort on my part and spices (John help some thank you) we got him out but he did not make it so one very pretty black probably polled doe kid for her she is a FF and took to be a mom like a champ
Next up ponderosa hopefully this weekend

Macchiato gave us two boys and one girl last night unfortunately the girl was DOA macchiato and the boys are doing great. They will be available as wethers. Next up spice and ponderosa due Jan 8.

I know I have been lacking posting here but I am going to try to post a little more
I am done breeding we have 9 due December - march
Macchiato is due December 16
Ponderosa and spice is due January 8
McGonagall and brown sugar due early February
Beauty,Sandy, Hermione,and wild all due end of February to first of March

Had our first few does ultrasound
Spice due January 8 with at least two possible three
Ponderosa ultrasound with three also due January 8
Macchiato is also bred she is so far along it did not make sense to have her ultrasound she is due December 16
Brown Sugar, McGonagall and black beauty are all bred also hope to have the last three bred in the next three weeks
Going to have alot of kids this winter/spring

Well days like today just sucks when you are a farmer joy our older doe pasted away last night she was almost 14 years old then I went down to the barn to find one of my does aborted her pregnancy she was having issues last week took her to the vet I believe they gave her a dewormer that caused her to abort not worse case she has struggled her entire pregnancy to keep weight on but it still sucks hopefully tomorrow will be better on the good side the remaining 10 does are all pregnant and doing well

Update looks like it was not nutters who aborted but spice she is a young doe not sure why she aborted and I have never had this happen in my herd
