Our MUDD boys made us proud this weekend in Texarkana. Nick was in the 1D on Friday with 473 entries and Quincy clocked a 2D time on Rowdy Saturday against 612 entries.

The cheerleader is my 8 year old granddaughter. It was her first time to come to a big barrel race and sleep in the LQ horse trailer. Quincy also brought her 9 month old baby and Little Brother (3 yo gelding in training) for the hauling experience and exhibitions.

To be able to climb on a horse and compete in barrel racings is a blessing. To be able to do it with horses I broke and trained myself, with my daughter, and 2 granddaughters is just blessings upon blessings.

I didn’t have runs I was proud of at the Ruby Buckle Central race, but this 3rd barrel in the first go was pure perfection. Focusing on the positive! 🤠

Nick gets his first win this evening at the Moody Mares Productions show with 91 entries. So proud of my big brown boy.

First barrel used to be the issue. Now that we have it fixed the 2nd and 3rd have gone down hill. I fixed one problem and I know I can fix the others. It's like playing "whack a mole" though. 😏
We'll put it all together one day soon.

Nick’s first time to clock in the 1D. Hopefully there will be many more. He was so calm and such a laid back and relaxed boy last night. That’s how I like them!

A lot of nonsense at the beginning but when he gets lined out, he is all business. This makes four 1D times in a row for Slick Rowdy Yates, two different arenas. I’m so proud of him and Quincy.

Had a great time barrel racing with my daughter last night in Crowley. Our boys did good! The only thing that beats winning money is the satisfaction of knowing you trained and hauled two horses that clocked in the 1D.

Thank you Kendall Kennedy for bringing the fan club. It made Quincy’s night extra special to have her husband and babies there.

On today’s episode of Mudd Horses, in addition to all of these special moments caught on video, I got bucked off of Nick. 😜

Guess he is not always a saint. 😇😏

If it was easy everyone would be doing this, right?

No video and no witnesses but I’m fine. Except for some soreness in my left shin which I’m sure will have some nice color to it tomorrow because my foot got hung up in the stirrup.

He was being lazy doing a turning exercise off the barrels at a lope and I gave him a good spur in the side as a way to tell him to move his big butt and go some where with some energy. When I did he protested the extra effort I was asking of him and he gave one big leap in the air.

I don’t get onto him aggressively like that very often and the fact that he has been stalled for 2 weeks and only ridden a few times lightly compounded his attitude problem. 😜

Even though I was not thrilled with the circumstances, I had to giggle at his reaction. He lowered his head and stared at me intently. I could read his mind and I could see the confusion on his face. “Woman, what are you doing down there? That’s not where you’re supposed to be.”
😂

He just stood there and waited for me to get back on and finish the ride. I know it’s days like this that will make our future successes that much sweeter.
