Windmill Farm: A Piece of the American Heartland
There is something grounding about standing in the middle of a farm that has been part of a family for over a century.
Windmill Farm in Swisher, Iowa is more than land to us. It is history. It is hard work. It is legacy.
For over 100 years this farm has stayed in the family, passed down through generations who believed in the value of the land and the responsibility that comes with caring for it. Today it continues to produce corn, soybeans, and cattle, just as farms across the American heartland have done for generations.
And that matters more than ever.
In a world moving faster every day, it is easy to forget where our food comes from. The American farmer quietly feeds the country — and much of the world — long before the sun comes up and long after it goes down. Farming is not just an occupation; it is a commitment to resilience, stewardship, and faith in the future.
The heartland is the backbone of America.
Without farmers, there is no food system, no agricultural economy, and no rural communities that sustain so much of this country’s character and strength.
We are incredibly proud to be stewards of Windmill Farm and to keep this land thriving for the next generation.
But Windmill Farm is also something else.
It is a place where people gather.
There is something magical about the open skies, the quiet fields, and the wind moving through the trees. It reminds people to slow down, reconnect, and celebrate life’s moments together. Over the years it has become a beautiful setting for parties, gatherings, and special events, bringing friends, family, and community together in the middle of the Iowa countryside.
A farm like this tells a story.
It is a story about perseverance.
About family.
About the land.
And about the American spirit that continues to grow right here in the heartland.
We feel lucky every time we pull down the drive at Windmill Farm.
And we will always be proud to call it ours.

Cindy, Lefty and Jess
