It has been such an honor to extend our 100th Anniversary celebration to the important not-for-profits that do so much vital work for our community here in DeKalb County!
The Suter Company Community Enrichment Grant has one more grant cycle left this year - with another award totaling $25,000 going towards projects for our friends and neighbors.
Our Maintenance & Engineering Team is NOW HIRING for our 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician team. We're looking for our new Employee-Owner to contribute to the upkeep of our critical manufacturing equipment, help minimize downtime, and have a focus on corrective actions to prevent machine and component failures.
If you have a background in repairs and maintenance in a manufacturing environment & are looking for a 2nd Shift schedule, we'd love to see your application!

🧡 The Suter Company 100th Anniversary Community Enrichment Grant 🧡
Our 4th Quarter grant applications are open for our final $25,000 Community Enrichment Grant for DeKalb County not-for-profits! This year has been a remarkable one where we've been able to support 8 different not-for-profits with continuing to serve our neighbors here in DeKalb County.

Did You Know: Our ESOP has a vesting schedule, just like many other retirement plans. What is vesting?
Vesting in a Employee Stock Ownership Plan means each employee will own a certain percentage of their plan account for each year of service. For The Suter Company, we have a 6 year vesting schedule, which means that after 6 years of service, our Employee Owners own 100% of the value of their account.

Founded in 1925 in Palatine, IL by the late Charles B. Suter, we began business with processed poultry, fresh meat, and eggs distributed to restaurants throughout Northern Illinois. Though challenges of The Great Depression and World War II kept us small, our grandfather successfully handed off the family business to his two sons (George and Chuck), in the early 1950’s.
We then expanded our product offerings becoming one first companies in the U.S. to can deboned chicken. By 1970, a line of canned entrée salads (including chicken, tuna, ham, and egg salads) gained national distribution and were sold alongside canned poultry products to thousands of restaurants, schools, hospitals, correctional facilities, and other foodservice operators.
The third generation of our family, sons of George, Tim, and Dan Suter, took ownership of The Suter Company, Inc in 1990 innovating a line of shelf-stable lunch kits. This landed our first presence on a grocery store shelf. Today, our products can be found in the canned fish and meat section of supermarkets, wholesale clubs, dollar stores, and vending companies throughout the United States and Canada.
