Let’s talk about parenting on a homestead in today’s world. We do things a little different with our girls than I’m guessing most people do now. They aren’t allowed to have devices or be on social media (not knocking any parents that allow that, it’s just not the right things for our kids), and sometimes that’s hard for them to understand. A lot of their friends don’t have nearly as many chores and responsibilities as they do, and get to socialize with each other online where our kids don’t. We tell them how important it is to us to raise hard working, honest, trustworthy, strong, independent girls who will grow up to be bad ass women. Yesterday, an adult they loved and who they were supposed to be able to trust broke a very hard boundary with them, and let me tell you those little sassyfrasses stood tall and said “OH HELL NO!!” They put a grown man in his place and said we called our momma, she’s on her way, good luck 🤣 I’ve never been so proud of these girls!! Like any mother I question myself daily, am I raising them right? Am I too hard on them? Am I putting them on the right path? Seeing them grow to be forces of nature is so reassuring. This momma bear will always be in their corner, but it feels so good to know that these girls are going to be just fine in this big bad world one day. ❤️
