Black Walnut Phantom "Tommy" is going through desensitizing training...with goats.
I laughed when I saw that Susan Haney had her little goats walking around and under him and all was calm. One was actually licking and nibbling on his chest. She has an amazing boy at a year old! I can't wait to watch him mature and see where they go together!! I am feeling greatness in the air! I do have his 1/2 sister available in Syracuse, Indiana. Going to be just as stunning!

A fun story to tell and I loved how Monica handled the situation!

When Monica made a visit to test "drive" Scooby a couple of years back, she wanted to see him on the trails. I only had one other horse at my home barn, that was VERY Green, to ride with her, and I saddled him up. So we headed out and Scooby was handling everything in stride because I had been trailering him out and riding the trails. My other horse was rideable but still reactive. Well, something startled my horse and he totally ran right into the rear end of Scooby! I mean the CRASH kind of ran into him. Scooby held solid and he didn't let it rattle him due to lots of prior experience even though he was only 4! Her comment was, "Well, now I know how Scooby is going to handle these types of situations".

Every horse has their time in training where they have to learn to trust and respect their rider! Scooby was there but my "young" horse definitely needed more miles. This is why we create very well rounded horses by doing arena work and trail riding with tons of exposure.

Black Walnut Scooby "Moki" owned by Monika McKenna. A beautiful 6 yr old gelding with an amazing engine!

Monica is loving her time with this boy and is riding him on endurance rides. When not on the trail she is starting to show him in dressage. She plans on doing a 50 mile endurance ride and in the near future a 100 mile on the East coast. "Moki" has found his forever home. I asked her if she is ready to sell him and there was an immediate answer of "No". It looks like "Moki" is in his forever home!

Black Walnut Firecracker "RED" ** I don't bounce anymore. ** There are easier ways to teach them to ride. It may take a little longer but makes much more solid citizens.
