We're running it back again today at the E9 taproom - hop picking! Every fall, local hop growers roll through with their harvest, and we throw it straight into the kettle. No waiting—just fresh, sticky hops from our Tacoma neighbors, brewed into beer the same day.

It’s a tradition we look forward to every year. Local growers. Local brewery. Local beer. That’s what fresh hop season at E9 is all about.

Save the date! Join us for a beer and help support our veterans. Come out to E9 Brewing in Tacoma on Thursday, September 17, from 5-7 PM to support Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing.

Proceeds from the event will help fund the Project Healing Waters Northwest Region's Annual 2Fly Competition, the Northwest Region's premier fly fishing event. The 2Fly brings veteran PHW anglers from across the Pacific Northwest together for three days of camping, camaraderie, and fishing on the Yakima River.

The North Sound Program, launched in 2024, will be sending three anglers, two camp volunteers, and several boat captains to help get our veterans on the water. Last year, North Sound anglers and boaters brought home honors in multiple categories, including Largest Fish and Most Fish Caught by a Single Boat.

Enjoy a beer, grab a pizza, bid in the silent auction, and help make this incredible experience possible for our veterans. Plus you get to try to the new version of My Fishing Buddy during the event.

Doggo of the week honors go to Missy the bulldog, one of E9's biggest fans and easily our most expressive critic.

Missy has a face for every occasion, and every one of them says she is unimpressed. The taps could change, the patio could fill, a pizza could come out of the oven three feet away, and Missy will look at you like you owe her money.

Don't let the attitude fool you though. Behind all that jowl is, verifiably, the bestest girl. Sweet as they come, tolerates our whole staff, accepts affection like she's doing you a favor, and never says no to a treat or belly rub.

Come by and maybe you'll catch her holding down the patio. The full catalog of her expressions is best experienced in person. Shout out to for the gallery!

Tonight we take the show on the road. Brewer's Night at Imbibe, 6 to 8, with five E9 beers on the taps and our crew at the bar answering questions about what is in the glass.

There are E9 swag raffles running all evening, so you could walk out with a shirt to go with your opinions about our IPA.

We're a no-kids taproom, which means the only ones allowed to whine here have tails. House rules.

Got a good boy or girl in tow today? The bartenders keep treats behind the bar. Ask nicely. The dog, not you.

This is where the pizza goes. Not your hand. The pizza.

That fire is doing all the work. It runs hot enough that a pie is done before you finish your first sip, and it is the whole reason our crust tastes like ours and not like something you microwaved at 11pm. You cannot fake that in an oven that tops out at 500+.

We already know somebody out there is looking at their backyard grill thinking they can pull this off. Stone balanced on the grate, big dreams, shaky follow-through, armed by YouTube. We respect the confidence. We would just rather not hear how it went.

Leave the fire to us. Order one to-go, or grab a pint and let us cook.

Birthdays, thank-yous, the friend who helped you move a couch, your relatives visiting that need something to do. All valid reasons. "It's Sunday" also works.

They cover pints, food, merch, and to-go beer, so it's less a gift card and more a small stack of good decisions.
