Sunday 💕
There is always something going on here, it has become pretty routine and I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t capture moments as often as I used to.
Perhaps it’s partly the reality that my 3rd born with be 18 in about a month and my baby is starting high school… que fleeting motherhood tears… I want to soak up every moment with them and the everyday has become just that, every day life.
It’s funny, this homestead thing.
Always learning and yet things I was clueless about just 5 years ago are deeply ingrained in each day.
So.
Here’s a snippet of today’s everyday.
1 • A few hollyhocks to dry, the basil shadow on the enamel made me pause at its beauty.
2 • Apples in the dehydrator.
3 • Dehydrated tomato skins being stored until the end of the season when it will be powdered for tomato paste.
4 • Another round of peaches in the freeze dryer.
5 • Chive & dill cheese flip as it absorbs salt.
6 • Pepper harvest.
7 •Tomato harvest, learned a lesson on beauty vs. production.
8 • Butchered 12 rabbits.
9 • Pot filling with tomatoes to be canned.
10 • Mike getting some mowing in, his favorite homestead past time.
11 • Goat roast with root veggies for dinner.
What I didn’t capture; coffee on the balcony, milking the goats, moving the turkeys and meat birds, feeding bucks, pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, dogs, citrus tree maintenance, and all the typical household things of life. 💕
