Booth at Goats, Music and more in Lewisburg. Festival continues tomorrow/Saturday but I’ll pack up and head home tonight. I’m afraid I might leave Kansas if I’m here tomorrow and I don’t have red slippers to get home. Or all my stuff flies just through the air! (Did I get that cultural reference right? Been a while since I’ve seen that movie.) Come visit! 😊

Another interesting thing to learn!

I just repaired a tear in some farm pants! 🥳 Now my time would have been more efficiently spent trashing them and doing some real work but let’s learn something new. 🤔 They will end up trashed soon anyway but this is a new skill. I have done several buttons but never a tear. YouTube was very handy. It doesn’t look pretty but they are farm pants and will only be covered in grease, dirt, paint, and probably blood (mine unfortunately), and more. Now I’m curious to see how long my repair lasts! Will the first wash destroy it? Bets anyone? 🤣

I do need to go to a thrift store and get more super cheap farm clothes. New makes zero sense here on the farm.

Please no requests to repair your clothes or design au couture for your Paris show. 😜

Cool news for me! I had my last physical therapy session yesterday/Monday for my shoulder surgery. I’m not 100% but I’m close. Was told at my first postoperative appointment that full recovery takes one year! Wow! Still 7 months to go but I can do that. Plus I go to Therafit’s gym and I know those guys will help me out without reservation. Awesome people there. Love them all!

Here on JBF I’ve been bush hogging, w**d eating, scything and cleaning up the place after be unable to do so for months! Was a lot to do for a one armed farm hand but I managed. Way behind on gardening but should be normal next year.

One of my favorite summer meals on JBF. Fried green tomato with goat cheese and hot sauce. Yes, some folks only do fried green tomatoes at the end of the season before frost kills plants. Not me! This southern boy loves the tangy, spicy, crunchy, creamy, and fiery combination of all three ingredients. Only problem is that the only hot sauce I had left was the HOT kind. Was used in wise moderation! 🥵
