Bourne Brilliant Founded in 2013 by three sisters this multi-awarded youth-owned biz offers handcrafted sweet & savory food & drinks.

They use natural ingredients & locally-source (if possible). They opened the first vegan ghost kitchen in South City, Tallahassee in 2020. We are a trio of sisters (ages 15, 14 & 11) who handcrafts baked goods, savory meals, beverages, a full menu and more. All of our offerings are plant-based with natural ingredients and no unnecessary added preservatives! Additionally, we own a licensed ghost kitchen in South City, Tallahasee, FL and are licensed caterers of vegan meals (only).

Respectfully, information alone doesn’t grow businesses.

Founders need:
• grants
• stipends
• inventory funding
• marketing budgets
• operational support
• access to buyers and decision makers

You can’t tell founders to “scale” while they’re choosing between ad spend, inventory, daycare, or rent.

A lot of founders do not need another workbook.
We need working capital.

Thank you, Stems4Girls! We are always both grateful and surprised when we are mentioned alongside other Sci-Women/Sci-Girls; especially great pioneers & ceiling smashers. Furthermore, we have had to remind people that culinary arts actually require a great deal of SCIENCE! Below is a very brief synopsis of who/what got us started:

Both our maternal & paternal families are filled with skilled chefs, bakers, gardeners, etc.; though that's not what many of them established as a main source of income. We grew up helping in the kitchen! And often we've shared stories and pics of ourselves even as toddlers helping Mommy shell peas, juicing, kneading dough, etc. We've been creating from scratch for years. We even had a little from a small age. Growing up we didn't get to idolize any top chefs or celebrity biz moguls because we weren't aware of any until recent years. We didn't just fall into our ventures! Everything has been instilled in us, was already a part of our DNA, or self-taught....
