munity, they set out to bring their vision to life. After months of meticulous planning, the brothers faced a significant challenge: anti-craft beer legislation that threatened to derail their dream. Determined, the Carbonell brothers joined forces with the Florida Brewers Guild, successfully lobbying the state to keep growler fills legal. With the legislation defeated, they proudly launched Florida’s first dedicated growler filling station. Growler Country enjoys a devoted fan base & has earned numerous accolades, including being named Best Craft Beer Bar in Florida by CraftBeer.com’s Great American Beer Bars, & Best of Tallahassee for Craft Beer. Most recently, Restaurant Guru recognized Growler Country as the best Pub and Bar in Tallahassee, rated #1 out of 429 pubs & bars in 2025. Today, the Fernandez Family owns & runs Growler Country, continuing the military veteran legacy & infusing the establishment with fresh energy.
