ARAACA Benefit Cruise to Support Hillside SPCA Set for Sunday in Tamaqua.
(GHN8)
Car enthusiasts from across the Anthracite Region are invited to hit the road this weekend for a good cause.
The Anthracite Region Antique Automobile Club of America (ARAACA) will host a benefit cruise on Sunday, Aug. 16, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Leiby’s Ice Cream House in Tamaqua. The event will take place rain or shine.
The cruise is open to a wide variety of vehicles, including antique cars, muscle cars, hot rods, modified vehicles and motorcycles. The first 50 vehicles to arrive will receive a commemorative dash plaque.
Food will be available from Leiby’s during the event, giving attendees a chance to enjoy some ice cream and refreshments while checking out the cars and supporting a local animal shelter.
All proceeds from the benefit cruise will go to Hillside SPCA of Pottsville.
For additional information, contact Mike Havrilla at 570-436-5050.
ARAACA Annual Car Show Coming in September
The ARAACA will also celebrate its 40th annual car show on Sunday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The show will be held at the Tri-County Little League Field, located at the corner of Grove and Hancock streets in McAdoo.
Those interested in joining ARAACA or attending its upcoming events can find membership information, event details and downloadable registration forms for the annual show and benefit cruise at www.araaca.com.
Whether you're a longtime collector, a muscle-car enthusiast, a motorcycle fan or simply enjoy seeing classic vehicles, the upcoming events offer an opportunity to celebrate automotive history while supporting the community.
