Over the holiday season, Koch's Turkey Farm teamed up with Opportunity House, an emergency shelter that serves homeless men, women, families, and veterans. Koch's Turkey farm donated blankets, socks, toiletries, and more to support individuals who are experiencing homelessness to help get them back on their feet.

Yesterday, members of the Koch's Turkey Farm team volunteered their time at Helping Harvest, a food bank that supports the Schuylkill and Berks county communities, and one of our long time partners. Team members spent the afternoon sorting through and boxing goods from various food drives and retail stores that can be ordered by agency partners to support local communities!

At Koch’s Turkey Farm, we are proud to be year round partners with local and national agencies who help those in need. Supporting our local community is a priority, which is why we chose to partner with Pottsville-based Schuylkill Community Action (SCA) for the 2025 holiday season. SCA’s mission is to coordinate and focus all available resources on the needs of low-income Schuylkill County residents and families.

On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, members of the Koch’s Turkey Farm team presented SCA representatives with 19 turkeys and a check for $750. This donation was used to give 19 families in Schuylkill County a delicious holiday meal as a part of the SCA’s Brighter Holiday Project 2025!

Tomorrow is the big day! You got this. We are sharing a helpful guide to roasting your bird. At 325 degrees F, it takes about 10 to 13 minutes per pound to roast a turkey. A meat thermometer is your best friend in the kitchen! Your turkey is done when an internal temperature of 165 degrees F has been reached in the deepest part of the breast. 🦃

It's time to start defrosting your turkey! We have two preferred methods - simply moving your turkey from the freezer to the fridge (on a paper towel lined baking sheet) or a cold water bath. Both do the trick!
