Expect a filled future!
He’s already lined up the breaks you’ll need.
He did it for me. He will do the same for you 😘
He will take you from glory to glory!
“Ask and it will be given to you;
Seek and you will find;
Knock and it will be opened to you.”
(Matthew 7:7)
July 2014, I was in search of a commercial kitchen. I had been baking cookies in my home, signing up to sell at any and vendor/ craft shows I could find.
Michigan Cottage food law allows you to bake and sell for profit from your home. However, all sales must be made in person. I was getting so many requests; I could not be in all the places at one time nor could I keep up with the demand.
I needed to “seek” out a commercial location.
Many of my other friends in the industry were recommending venues of plenty but none were close by, (30-45 min) drive plus per hour costs of $15-$20 for use, plus storage and refrigeration expense - plus plus plus …
And after calculating the overall expense it just did not make sense. Not to mention I had a little girl at home that I loved dearly and our time together was precious to me.
I was becoming discouraged. 😞 and doubt set in. Did God REALLY want me do this? If so, why is it so hard?! (“Whoa is me.” The “Oh, poor me’s” began to set in)
I decided to reach out to Diane, my licensing agent, asking what kind of place it had to be. And it got me thinking.. why not reach out to the local churches in the area?! 🙂 So I drove to each one and “knocked” on the doors.
Many turned me down … I didn’t understand why either. Here I had a company that was serving the local community- helping hungry families put food on the table. Why didn’t they want to help me????
Last stop, St. Luke Lutheran Church and School in Clinton Twp.
I walked in and asked to speak w the community director or whom ever was in charge.
Out walked Keith.
I began to share with him what I was up to and how I needed his help. He had never done anything like this but was willing to put it before the board and see what they had to say.
In the meantime , he gave me a tour of the facility. Keep inmind the school was built in the 50’s - the stoves were original. (I told myself beggars can’t be choosy.)We shook hands and I didn’t hear back from him til October.
boy was I amazed at what I heard!!!
“The gas is back on and it turns out that only 3 of the 4 ovens are operational.”
“The council recently approved the purchase of new ovens for the kitchen”.
What?! Am I reading this right?!!!! NEW ovens?!
That story alone is “awe”some. Stay tuned I’ll share that miracle with you in another post.
“Anyway, If you still want to pursue an arrangement with the church, I’m eager to work something out.” -Keith
