If you buy cow milk, please read. As everyone knows, we try our best to take care of everyone equally. When you order milk, we confirm either the evening prior to the market or the day of. That said, I do go back and confirm everyone in chronological order as the orders have come in to be as fair as possible. If you ordered late and we are shorted, we have to cancel your order - as some of you found out today - in favor of the ones who ordered early (never more than 5 days prior to our market}. Normally we get the cow milk we have ordered, but sometimes they run short as well and I don't find out until delivery. I usually order a few extra but very careful as I don't want to be "stuck" with unsold milk. I pay for every gallon that is delivered. The extras are for the new folks that do not know to order, not for our regulars to expect there are extras every week. If you got lucky in the past with extras, good on you. But don't count on that to be the regular situation.
If I canceled your order today, I am so sorry for the inconvenience. Most of those who were canceled missed our deadline completely and were ordering yesterday and today, which is unacceptable for regulars. I will bend over backwards to make everyone happy if I possibly can. I hate canceling as it is double work for me as well.
If you want cow milk on Sunday, please order by 5pm on Friday (notice, you have an extra 5 hours to think about it now). If you want cow milk on Wednesday, please order by 5pm in Monday (again an extra 5 hours to order). Tuesday folks, please order by Sunday 9pm. Goat milk/products can be ordered up until 2 hours prior to market but we do not check the email after that deadline.
Again, I am so sorry to have to cancel your orders, but if I don't have the cow milk in hand, there is no way I can fill the orders.
Despite all the ranting here and the rain outside today, I wish you a Happy Sunday!!
