Founded in 2008 by Steven Grasse, the mind behind iconic brands such Hendrick’s Gin and Sailor Jerry Rum, as a way to explore bringing his well-earned craft reputation to more mainstream categories like flavored whiskies and spiced rum.

Here we began to question the status quo of the spirits industry, bringing elevated craft techniques and whole natural ingredients to every spirit made.

Art in the Age is now a full-fledged spirits brand within the Tamworth Distilling family, carrying forward a tradition of unconventional flavor, craft, and spirited experimentation.

Distilled to capture the energy of early spring, Spring Equinox Gin is a fresh interpretation of our evolving line of single-batch gins and released at the moment when the earth begins its seasonal rebirth.

It opens with bright, lifted aromatics of fresh celery and lemon petitgrain bringing a green, citrusy clarity, layered over crisp juniper. On the palate, those vibrant top notes give way to a gentle warmth: black pepper adds a subtle spice, while lavender softens the profile with a light floral touch.

As it lingers, angelica root grounds the experience with an earthy, slightly musky depth, tying together the herbaceous, citrus, and floral elements into a clean, balanced finish.

Delicate yet complex, it’s a gin that evolves in the glass for a fresh and savory expression of the season.

At Tamworth, our spirits are built on a foundation of local partnership and shared reverence for the land.

We work closely with local farms to source ingredients with intention, like the black trumpet mushrooms foraged at the New Hampshire Mushroom Company LLC we use in our Black Trumpet Blueberry Cordial. This relationship is a reciprocal one. Once our spirits are distilled, we return the favor by sending our spent grain to White Gates Farm where they use it to feed the animals that reside there.

Guided by seasonality and a shared reverence for craft, every bottle of spirits we make is a reflection of this cycle—resulting in spirits that express their origin with clarity, depth, and quiet precision, down to the final sip.
