Our Progressive Pied quail had a little photoshoot today, and we couldn’t be more excited about how this line is developing here at the homestead. 📸
These birds come from an outstanding, well-established line at Thieving Otter Farms, known for producing beautiful coloration, strong genetics, and consistent quality. We’re very intentional about the stock we bring in, and this group represents the kind of foundation birds we want to build on for years to come.
Progressive Pied Coturnix are especially loved for their unique, eye-catching patterns—no two birds look exactly alike. They’re a hardy, productive variety of Coturnix quail, valued not only for their beauty but also for their reliability as layers and breeders. That combination of performance and appearance makes them a favorite for both homesteaders and breeding programs.
Our goal is to continue strengthening this line through careful selection and responsible breeding so that future chicks and hatching eggs from our program reflect the same level of quality, consistency, and strong genetics.
