The sales of this little guy were a little bit nuts! We need to restock our crabmeat and we will have the crab cake back next week but for the weekend, we are sold out. 🦀
We will likely be taking ahead orders in the future - stay tuned !

That’s us! 🤩

What started strictly as a wine and craft beer shop three years ago has evolved into a popular eatery in the Middle Peninsula. Wine and food lovers can enjoy perfectly paired tastings and gourmet soups, salads and sandwiches with dine in or grab-and-go options.

Act XII Wine & Provisions in Tappahannock was the dream and creation of Dr. Robert and Corrie Culley. When they moved to Essex County they realized wine enthusiasts were driving as far as Kilmarnock and Irvington for speciality wines. So the couple opened Act XII, a fine wine and craft beer shop, in September 2023. In 2025, they collaborated with 1710 Tavern owners Greg and Jennifer Huff and now general manager Rebecca Darling to expand and open the market in the adjoining space which was formerly a tile store.

GELATO has arrived in Tappahannock at Act XII Wine and Provisions. If you had the wild cherry gelato at our Sardinia pairing in July, you’ll be happy to hear we have it in “pint plus” in our new Sammontana freezer from International Gourmet Foods, Inc.

Fully stocked with gelato novelty bars and cones in delicious Italian 🇮🇹 flavors and “pint plus” in six different varieties.

A sweet addition to any day, we hope you’ll come try one 🔜! 🍦

HOW do you Tomato 🍅 soup 🥣??
My mother always swore by a simple pat of butter. Last year I was blown away by the suggestion of “grilled cheese croutons” floating in a bowl of creamy tomato soup.

Our soup this week is a creamy Parmesan Tomato bisque. It is gluten free. It is made with vegetables, chicken stock & cherry pomodoro tomatoes.

We can top with shredded parm, mascarpone, ricotta salata (a strained ricotta cheese for grating), with crushed sourdough croutons or with a side of grilled pimento cheese.

Pair with a a bottle of Norante Sangiovese or a glass of LAPOSTOLLE Sauvignon Blanc from our machines. Or a draft beer 🍺!
