Magnolia Pride Poultry

Remarkable memories for Magnolia Pride yesterday! Have a few chicks hatching out. 2 brown red chicks, a lemon blue chick and then, the eggcitement! After 2 years of trying, God has finally given me not just one but 2 sport chicks. One was hiding under Loretta, their foster mom, during this video. There are 2 more eggs under her making their way out. I’m fully expecting those to be lemon blue, but would be over the moon if the sport gene won again! I will have just a few full blooded lemon blue pullets/hens available in the next few weeks. Keep in mind they will be for sale, not on sale. Thanks for looking, yall stay cool!!

Meet Millie! Millie was one of the first 4 chickens on the yard here at Magnolia Pride. We got her from tractor supply a little over 3 years ago.

The first rooster to hit my yard. Macho Man. Small and mighty 😆 I don’t exactly know what’s in his blood. What are your opinions?

Meet Hank. The son of Duke and Dame. Hank is being used for this years breeding program then will be gifted to a friend of mine. His comb is a bit big for my liking, but his colors make up for it!

Magnolia Pride Poultry believes in quality over quantity. I did not hatch this bird but this is the rooster that’s starting it all for me. When I saw this breed, that’s about all I wanted to work with. I’m working with limited space so my hatchings are also limited. But my breedings are very selective. This is only the second year for me to work with the lemon blues but I’m happy with the direction they’re headed. I hope to work with more breeds soon. Pictured below is Duke. Picture taken before I trimmed his spurs.
