Corn crew hard at work this beautiful Saturday🌽☀️ Thankful for another growing season to provide food for the animals that provide food for us!

Corn silage is made by chopping the above-ground portion of the corn plant and fermenting it in an airtight silo without oxygen. This process uses bacteria to convert carbohydrates into acids, which “pickles” the crop and preserves it for long periods.

Cows love it because it is a high energy feed that is palatable, digestible, and delicious 🐮🌾

Corn silage is a fermented feed made from corn that’s a key part of our herds ration. It’s a high-energy forage that’s easy to digest.

This seasons corn has been planted and is just starting to grow! It will be harvested this fall and will begin to be fed early next year.

It takes a lot of planning to raise delicious beef, happy Thursday!🐮
