Hello all! It’s been a moment since a note was posted on this page. It was a sad day for everybody when Ray’s Prime Foods permanently closed its doors. As Brent Martyniak often said, the store’s business model truly had run its course. You are all missed!
In the spirit of the old Ray’s, Brent recently started a YouTube Channel – Brent’s Prime Food Adventures. It’s designed to take viewers on a journey of discovery about food. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/
Each episode references the old store and includes historical pictures. Episodes cover award winning “Hickray” smoked kielbasa and chicken Italian sausage with sun-dried tomatoes, beef ribs (especially short ribs), ground beef (including gourmet pub burgers), and prime rib. Store and family recipes are shared. For instance, 15 recipes for the old Ray’s gourmet pub burgers can be found in that video’s Description page.
Future planned episodes include the old Ray’s redskin potato salad, beef jerky, city chicken, marinated beef and chicken kabobs, and spaghetti salad. In other current episodes already on YouTube, Brent and viewers learn about olive oil, bison, rabbit, venison, and sourdough bread. Each is designed to be informative and entertaining, and they often also are nostalgic. If you get the chance, tune in!
In many of the videos, Brent states, “Know your source!” It’s becoming more difficult in today’s age of mass production, big box stores, and industrialization. The Martyniak family enjoyed getting to know its customers, as many of you did with them. Keep fighting the good fight! Shop small businesses, go to local Farmer’s Markets, ask questions, read ingredient labels, swap recipes, etc. This spirit coursed through Ray’s Prime Foods and continues to do so in Brent’s Prime Food Adventures.
Thank you for supporting Ray’s Prime Foods over the years. If you get the opportunity, please do the same for Brent’s Prime Food Adventures. You were appreciated as customers and will be appreciated as viewers.
FYI – This page is no longer monitored. If you would like to reach out to Brent, his email address can be found on the YouTube Channel. Additionally, you always can Comment within the episodes. Brent does respond.
Cheers!
