George and Aaron have been busy getting our pumpkin seeds planted. We choose no-till pumpkin planting which means growing pumpkins without inverting the soil. Instead of plowing, you seed or transplant directly into a living or terminated cover crop. This method prevents soil erosion, retains moisture, keeps pumpkins clean by resting them on the mulch, and naturally suppresses weeds. Over the next week we should have between 10 to 15 acres planted.
