Christian County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce:

20 souls were saved last night at the Christian County Jail. 8 women and 12 men were baptized. Chief Jim Baker and Jail Administrator Cecil Polley attended the service led by Jimmy and Amy Palmer. While the men and women know their souls are saved, they also recognize there is still a price to pay for the actions that brought them to jail. Congratulations and God’s blessings to all who participated.

Recovery is a highly individualized, long-term process. Rather than a strict "cure," it is a journey of managing symptoms, developing healthy coping mechanisms, and improving overall health and wellness. While addiction is a chronic disease that alters the brain, a large majority of individuals achieve full remission with help.

Let us be your first step for help

We can help you get this medication and start your path to better living!

Suboxone: The Facts for Our Community
What is Suboxone?
• A prescription medication used to treat opioid use disorder.
• It contains two active ingredients: buprenorphine and naloxone.
• It is recognized globally as a life-saving tool for recovery.
Why Do Doctors Prescribe It?
• Stops Withdrawal: It relieves the severe physical sickness of quitting opioids.
• Reduces Cravings: It quiets the constant mental urge to use again.
• Prevents Overdose: It acts as a shield, blocking other dangerous drugs from affecting the brain.
Common Myths vs. Facts
• Myth: "Using Suboxone is just replacing one addiction with another."
• Fact: Addiction is chaotic and destructive. Suboxone is a controlled, medical treatment that stabilizes the brain so a person can function normally.
• Myth: "Suboxone is easy to abuse."
• Fact: The ingredient naloxone prevents misuse. If someone tries to crush and inject the medication, it triggers immediate, severe withdrawal sickness.
Critical Safety Guidelines
• Do Not Mix: Combining Suboxone with alcohol or anti-anxiety meds (benzodiazepines) can cause fatal breathing failure.
• Proper Storage: It must be locked away safely. Accidental swallowing by children or pets is a life-threatening emergency.
• Dental Care: Rinse with water after the film dissolves to protect tooth enamel.
How It Helps the Whole Community
• Saves Lives: It drastically lowers overdose death rates.
• Restores Families: It allows individuals to return to work, school, and parenting.
• Reduces Crime: Medical stability reduces the need for illegal street drugs.

National Correctional Officers Week 2026 is observed from Sunday, May 3, to Saturday, May 9, 2026.

This week honors the dedication, professionalism, and courage of correctional staff who maintain security in jails and prisons, often working out of public view to ensure safety.

Those of us with the Outreach Program would like to say Thank You to those men and women that keep those safe behind locked doors.
