Thompson Valley Bee Farm

Thompson Valley Bee Farm This "Bee Friendly" farm is a Honey Bee Farm, Honey Bee Sanctuary, and a Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary! We love to learn from and work with nature! No chemicals!

We work closely with the Honey Bees watching and learning from them. We are strictly "organic" in our farm management practices. Supported by private donations and product/equipment/honey bee sales. We offer the following services: One on one beekeeping mentoring, educational public speaking on a wide range of beekeeping topics, migratory crop pollination within the region, consultation on region

al natural bloom expansion with both trees or flowers, swarm collection and Honey Bee removal services. Seedlings of selected "Bee Friendly" trees are also sold in very limited quantities annually as part of Plant Trees For Bees project.

We got honey making going on! Several colonies the bees are bringing the nectar in at 250+ bees a minute! That is a good rate for honey production all you beekeepers out there! Sourwood honey is only a few weeks away!

Well, we have a new sign up! Check it out! This month gets us to 17 years with the honey bee adventure! It has been marvelous to work with and learn from them. Hoping to get a little more active this year after a long baby step health battle. Special thanks to Connie Davidson, Yogi, and my supportive wife Katherine. Pete Smith has also helped often here at the farm. Thanks to you all! And thanks to everyone who likes our honey! Give us a like if you think the new sign looks good!

For the last 11 year's Keeper was a constant companion, always at her post, watching over the hives. She took the deep sleep yesterday. She will be missed.

Yes you may have heard I had Two surgeries in the last 10 days and heart surgery just 3 days ago! Dr. Massaro did a great job getting me back to smooth heart sounds! The "Maze" procedure. Thank you to all in the Carilion network who helped with my care. Ashley, Dawn, Cindy, Pam, Nancy, Mandy, Emily (Thanks for the Vanilla shake M) Rachel, Morgan, and many more. Thank you for what you all do everyday to show compassion for people in this pandemic riddled world. Photos below: Thompson Valley Bee Farm future honey house and a happy beekeeper!
