Update: All the pigs are gone.

We want to thank everyone who has reached out with their thoughts and prayers for Chris’s recovery. Chris is currently in a spinal cord rehabilitation center. He is getting stronger every day and is in great spirits. He is working on learning how to navigate his daily life in his wheel chair. He will be able to be entirely independent. We are moving into a one story house in town in about three weeks. While it is bittersweet to be leaving our farm, we are happy that our new home will be perfect for our needs right now.

As for the farm, we are down to just two pigs left that are not spoken for. It is our beloved breeding pair, Wendell and Miss Piggy, both registered Idaho Pasture Pigs. They are a proven pair and have had several healthy litters. Their last litter was born on November 23, 2021. If you are interested in this pair, please let us know as soon as possible. We’d love to see these two go to a loving home.

P.S. We will have a 10-acre farm for sale in Tecumseh in mid-April. If you or anyone you know is interested, reach out to us. 😊

Hi everyone! We’d like to start by thanking all of you for your support for our little farm over the last few years. It has been a wonderful adventure and has connected us with so many people that we didn’t know before, many of whom have become good friends.

We are writing because we have had one of those life events that changes life in sudden and unexpected ways. On January 19, 2022, Chris had an accident at work that caused him to have a bad spinal cord injury. He is currently in the hospital, medically stable and is awaiting a room in the neurological rehabilitation center at U of M. He currently has no feeling or movement below his chest. Fortunately, Chris has not had any other injuries related to the accident, including any head trauma or loss of mental function. He is in very good spirits and still as hilarious as ever. We are truly blessed that he is doing so well with this. Physically, he has a long way to go.

We are planning the next chapter in our lives and a working farm is, unfortunately, not possible at this time. Only time will tell what will happen in the long term. We are super optimistic people and Chris is literally the strongest person I know (physically and mentally). So, if you or anyone you know is interested in raising an Idaho Pasture Pig or Red Wattle/IPP cross, please let us know. Some are new and some are nearly finished. We also have some breeding stock, if that is something you are interested in. Also, we have two IPPs that are scheduled for butchering on Feb. 21st. They are available as whole or possibly halves. We still plan on keeping bees, so the honey will still be flowing.

Again, thank you for all of your support! While the idea of saying goodbye to our little farm is difficult, we are ready for wherever life takes us next. We are open to seeing what doors God will be opening for us. His blessings have gotten us this far, given us some amazing experiences and memories, and will certainly be guiding us into our future.

Thank you, friends! ❤️

Turned some pork belly into bacon again. Total process takes about twelve days but it’s definitely worth the wait!

I’ve got a freezer full of fat that I’d like to have cleared out so I have room for meat. If anyone is interested in some to render for lard let me know (I’m just giving it away). If you want some and you’re local, let me know and we’ll figure out how to get it to you ( if you’re not local let me know and you can figure out how to get from us).
