Hi everyone! We’d like to start by thanking all of you for your support for our little farm over the last few years. It has been a wonderful adventure and has connected us with so many people that we didn’t know before, many of whom have become good friends.
We are writing because we have had one of those life events that changes life in sudden and unexpected ways. On January 19, 2022, Chris had an accident at work that caused him to have a bad spinal cord injury. He is currently in the hospital, medically stable and is awaiting a room in the neurological rehabilitation center at U of M. He currently has no feeling or movement below his chest. Fortunately, Chris has not had any other injuries related to the accident, including any head trauma or loss of mental function. He is in very good spirits and still as hilarious as ever. We are truly blessed that he is doing so well with this. Physically, he has a long way to go.
We are planning the next chapter in our lives and a working farm is, unfortunately, not possible at this time. Only time will tell what will happen in the long term. We are super optimistic people and Chris is literally the strongest person I know (physically and mentally). So, if you or anyone you know is interested in raising an Idaho Pasture Pig or Red Wattle/IPP cross, please let us know. Some are new and some are nearly finished. We also have some breeding stock, if that is something you are interested in. Also, we have two IPPs that are scheduled for butchering on Feb. 21st. They are available as whole or possibly halves. We still plan on keeping bees, so the honey will still be flowing.
Again, thank you for all of your support! While the idea of saying goodbye to our little farm is difficult, we are ready for wherever life takes us next. We are open to seeing what doors God will be opening for us. His blessings have gotten us this far, given us some amazing experiences and memories, and will certainly be guiding us into our future.
Thank you, friends! ❤️
