This is the sire of my young mare Joys del Oso. She has a Fino gait just like her sires. I love her so much.

Four of our horses they are sold went home today. Canto, Destinado, Fiero, and Delfina now live next door. It is fun watching them run around their pasture and eat their spring grass. :)

Spring has sprung here in Tehachapi. We are so busy. Working on our landscape spring cleaning and pruning. It is all going to be extra lovely with all our EL Nino rains this year. Going to turn out the horses on the very green two acre pasture. We will limit their time but they will love it. We are feeding very rich rye/alfalfa hay so they are used to eating the grass. We planted horse grazing grass 3 years ago and we have been hoeing the weeds and baby sage brush that tries to invade it so it has been worth the hard work. We will turn out the 2 geldings Destinado and Canto, Fiero the two year old and Lucero and Marcado the weanlings together. We will take pictures and post them. We will turn the stallions, JLM's Favorito and Dorado de Colores, out seperately. LOL They fuss when one gets out and challanges the other over the fences. It wakes up the whole neighborhood when it happens that we forget a chain, and I have to run out in my nightgown and boots to put him away. I just point and they go back to their own stall and turn out. :) I don't think I can turn them out together because of that. I will turn out the mares together also. They are going to be fine together. We have Capuchina, Brisa, Aurora, Delfina, Joya Capuchina's daughter, and Macarena Brisa's daughter. We have a fine herd of Paso Fino's here at Rancho del Oso. We are open to visitors and love to have them come and do test rides. We give some lessons. We have 5 boys for sale and one young mare. The prices are lower this year and the geldings and c**ts hope to find new owners this year. Come see them. We will start breeding soon, it depends on how many of our horses sell. I sure LOVE spring!

We had lots of fun Saturday. We had guests over for a final BBQ and horseback riding. We had 2 families with 2 teen daughters each and a friend of theirs. Wow did they do great! We saddled up Brisa and her son Canto. Canto had never been ridden by a novice rider. He did wonderful. He was like a sports car so willing to go again and again even one father that was 6' and 25 0 lbs. Canto did wonderful for him, no problem carrying his weight with his eager attitude intact. He walked when they asked, cortoed a lot and even largoed with some. He is Brisa's son and inherited her ability to read their rider and change with sensitivity from the fearful to the bold riders easily. He is for sale on Horseclicks.com. I will upload some pictures tonight. The more you ask of Paso Finos they more they develop and grow into an all around horse. Before Saturday He had only been ridden by his trainer and Jim and I. What a gem this big boy is.

We had a great day yesterday riding Joya del Oso for the first time since she returned home from Nationals. She did great and is getting used to everything. We rode her in the arena and had a great time. We are getting her used to the different saddle and bit before we take her out on the trail. She has gained weight and her mind has stayed soft and loving. Our other horses returning from training took quite a while to be themselves. She has been in training for 2 years and 2 months. For a barely 5 year old that is a long time away. She is a splendid horse. No spooking at things just curiosity, I love it. I will add pictures later today.

I sure love this sign as you go into the gate at the Kentucky Horse Park at Nationals. I will be posting Joya's photo so...

We are SO very happy to be home from Nationals. Our young mare Joya del Oso didn't sell so we are looking forward to riding her a lot this winter. We will show her at The Fiesta of the Spanish Horse in the Amateur classes next year. She had only been to 3 shows before she went to compete with the best fino mares. She will only get better with experience. Love it that she is home where we can ride her lots instead of going the 300+ mile round trip to the trainers to ride for 20 minutes. :) She is so sweet and loving and happy to be home. No adjustments problems even though she was away for 2 years and 2 months. She remembers everyone of our horses and comes to give us affection and horsey hugs eve
ry day. We couldn't be happier with how she has matured. We will post pictures soon. Thank you all for following our journey.

We have been thinking about opening our ranch for a new service as a Horse Motel for those traveling through the Tehachapi pass on Hwy. 58. We can also do a Bed and Breakfast with our two guest rooms available. No need to go to town for a room. You can have fine dining at the Oak Tree Country Club here in Bear Valley Springs or join us for a country BBQ. We are starting to have lessons available on our retired show horses. Tons of fun for youngsters and those that are not so young anymore. Get that riding tune up on great horses. Their show training and experience has made them wonderful to ride. One mare our Brisa is safe for even smaller children, if they can reach the stirrups they can control her easily. She is the mare in our profile. Yes she is the gentlest mare ever but can still do her fabulous fino board show performance for the experienced rider.

We have a new c**t born 11 days ago. He is the most beautiful bright bay. He is for sale for $3500. His dam is our best fino mare Capuchina D 'Don Francisco and our 15 hand buckskin stallion JLM's Favorito a Simbolo de Besilu son. Dynamite genetics have combined to make the prettiest conformation c**t that we have ever had. Long straight legs, long neck, high headset, and a beautiful head on him. His little gait is low and tight like his father's and grandfather's and his hock action is a mirror of his fino mom's. I am getting a good feeling about this c**t. His half sister Joya del Oso is showing in fino and winning. This is a great low price for him and will go up soon. A down payment will hold him until weaning for you.
