This is Duke, “formerly” our livestock guardian dog. Unfortunately, after underperforming for two and a half years, I had to fire him. Today my wife and daughter took him to get bathed and groomed and apparently he has now been promoted to living room guardian dog. WTF?!?

Each night around nightfall, I head down to the pasture to close up the chickens. There’s never a rush because our livestock guardian dog, Duke is down there “guarding” everything. Last night I went down and he wasn’t at the gate waiting for me like usual. I went up to the goat shed and found him “off duty”, I guess. I was standing right on top of him and called his name twice before he woke up! You can see all of the goats standing and wondering what I was doing there.
