A Tribute to Those Who Raised Us

Today, we pause to honor the ones who gave us our foundation — the mothers who loved us fiercely, who set boundaries not out of control, but out of care, who showed us how to navigate this world with grace and strength.
But we also hold space for every story. Not all of us were raised by a mother's hands. Some of us were guided by a father who learned to be everything. A grandmother whose wisdom was ancient and steady. An aunt who stepped in without hesitation. A mentor who saw something in us we couldn't yet see in ourselves. A neighbor, a coach, a teacher — someone who simply chose to show up.

Parenting is one of the most humbling callings there is. You give everything you have, and you won't know for years — sometimes decades — whether it was enough. And then one day, your child navigates a storm with grace, or chooses kindness when no one is watching, and quietly, you understand: it was enough. You did enough. You were enough.
To every mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, and guardian who took the time to truly see a child — to understand who they were, not just who you hoped they'd be — thank you. You changed the course of a life. Maybe many lives.
Parenting is not measured in perfect moments. It is measured in presence. In patience. In love that says I believe in you even on the hard days.
May we honor those people today — with gratitude, with grace, and with the quiet recognition that the greatest gift one person can give another is to help them find their way home to themselves.

Happy Mother's Day — and a celebration of all who nurture, guide, and love.
