THE EVIDENCE CONTINUES TO SURFACE…

The whispers are getting louder.

For years, reports of mysterious splashes, unexplained ripples, and strange activity beneath the waters of Tempe Town Lake have circulated throughout the community. Some dismiss it as folklore. Others have dedicated years to documenting the phenomenon.

Now, you can help spread awareness.

We’ve got limited-edition Tempe Lake Whale t-shirts available at the tasting room, along with a very limited run of 16”x 20” commemorative posters signed by local artist and believer Eric S. Carlson () 🍻

TEMPE LAKE WHALE — THE LEGEND GROWS…

For years, whispers have echoed through Tempe… late-night sightings, mysterious splashes, odd noises, unexplained ripples in the water. Some say it’s impossible. Others know the truth. One person even created tempewhale.org back in the early 2000s to document the growing mystery.

Local artist and believer Eric S. Carlson ( ) has taken it upon himself to help bring this legendary story to life and raise awareness around the whispers growing louder surrounding the mystery lurking beneath the waters of Tempe Town Lake.

To help shine a light on this legendary environmental and unexplained wildlife phenomenon potentially taking place at Tempe Town Lake, we brewed a beer worthy of the mystery itself…

Introducing Tempe Lake Whale — a 6.0% ABV Hazy IPA built for believers, skeptics, and anyone who enjoys a good conspiracy theory with a pint in hand. 👀

Now available in cans & on draft at our tasting room, along with limited-edition posters and merchandise helping document the growing legend of the whale.

Our newest creation off the pilot system, Dog & Pony is an Export Stout checking in at 7.3% ABV. Brewed with brown sugar and Belgian candi sugar, this stout brings rich malt character with smooth layers of dark caramelized sweetness!

Fun fact: The name is a little “tip of the cap” to one of the potential names for our brewery before we officially launched as The Shop Beer Co. 🍻

We’re looking to add a Full-Time Cellar Person to our production team!

We’re seeking a passionate, hardworking, and detail-oriented person to join our cellar crew. This role is hands-on and perfect for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a great team, and loves making great beer.

Responsibilities include cellar operations, cleaning & sanitation, kegging, packaging support, and helping maintain quality throughout the production process. Brewery experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn go a long way.

If you consider yourself dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment — we’d love to hear from you!

In celebration of the Annual Pro-Am Competition, we teamed up with ASH members Greg Harris, John Bastian, and Wayne Feller to bring Honey Bear ESB to life! This is always one of our favorite times of the year, getting to connect and collaborate with the local homebrewing community!

This 5.4% ABV Extra Special Bitter delivers classic malt-forward character with great balance. The use of honey maltgives this beer subtle notes of honey and mild floral character with easy drinkability — a true nod to traditional English-style pub ales.

We’ve got our newest beer fresh off the pilot system - “Flex Luther”

“Flex Luther” is a Brut New Zealand IPA checking in at a sneaky 8.3% ABV. Brewed with Pacific Jade, Riwaka, Nectarine, and Hallertau Blanc hops, this one is bursting with mango and tropical flavors, finishing dry and extremely drinkable!

Currently pouring on draft at our tasting room - grab a pint and kick off the weekend right! 🍻
