Exciting news! We are officially entering the flowering stage as we see in our grenache vines over at Mustang Springs. Flowering is the segue that determines the yield for this vintage. It’s important Mother Nature works with us during this window, because any drastic weather change can cause shatter.
Shatter occurs when the flower “cap” breaks and fails to pollinate or mature berries. This leads to clusters with missing berries or uneven ripening, ultimately reducing the season’s total yield.
