Our little helpers 🐝 are in big trouble ... We have noticed a significant decrease in their activity this year in our wildflowers as well as now during full bloom, and its cause to be concerned. Climate change, pesticide use and habitat loss are all contributing to this serious issue. Every step we take, as humans, on this planet, matters. Our goal is to tread as lightly as possible on this precious earth while we are here. Simple steps can be taken in every home ..
🐝 7 Simple Ways to Help Save the Bees (From Home!) 🌼
1. Plant Bee-Friendly Flowers
Grow native wildflowers & herbs like lavender, mint, borage, and sunflowers. Aim for blooms spring through fall.
2. Skip the Pesticides
Avoid chemicals, especially neonicotinoids. Go organic or use bee-safe alternatives—spray early morning or evening if needed.
3. Offer Fresh Water
Put out a shallow dish with clean water + pebbles so bees can safely land and drink.
4. Create Bee Habitats
Leave some bare soil for ground-nesting bees. Add a bee hotel with bamboo or wood for solitary species.
5. Let “Weeds” Bloom
Clover, dandelions, and wildflowers feed bees—ditch the perfect lawn!
6. Support Local Beekeepers
Buy local honey and bee products. It supports ethical practices and sustainable hives.
7. Spread the Word
Share these tips, plant pollinator gardens with friends, and support bee-friendly policies.
