Why Every Farm Needs a Guinea
Guineas are loud, chaotic, and dramatic…
but they’re also incredible tick control.
One guinea can eat hundreds of ticks a day — no chemicals required.

Some of the best parts of farm life aren’t the big milestones.
They’re the quiet in‑between moments:
the soft clucking at dusk, the rabbits settling in, the breeze moving through the yard.

Those tiny pockets of peace are easy to miss when life gets loud.
But they’re the ones that anchor me the most.
The ones that remind me why we chose this life in the first place.

Why Rabbits Need Suspended Cages
Rabbits do best with airflow and dry feet.
Suspended cages help prevent sore hocks, keep bedding dry, and protect them from predators.
It’s one of the healthiest housing setups for meat and fiber breeds.

Animals don’t pretend.
They don’t rush, overthink, or push past their limits.
They eat when they’re hungry, rest when they’re tired, and trust the rhythm of the day.

Watching them is a reminder that life doesn’t have to be complicated.
Sometimes the most grounded thing you can do is follow your own natural rhythm instead of the one the world demands.

What Makes Rex Fur Special
Rex rabbits have a genetic mutation that makes their guard hairs the same length as their undercoat.
That’s why their fur feels like velvet — dense, plush, and unbelievably soft.

The sun dipped low tonight and everything turned that warm, golden color that makes the whole farm feel softer. The guinea called out once, the goose muttered to himself, and the chickens murmured their little bedtime chatter from inside the coop.

Nothing fancy. Nothing staged.
Just the kind of evening that makes you slow your steps without even realizing it.

There’s something grounding about ending the week with animals who settle into the night the same way every time — steady, predictable, peaceful.
It’s a good reminder that not everything in life has to be complicated.

Egg update: the girls are slowly getting back into the rhythm, and we finally have enough to restock the website. Fresh eggs are now available again for anyone who’s been waiting.

Still keeping things steady and not pushing hard, but if you’ve been wanting a dozen (or a few), they’re up and ready to claim.

Thank you for supporting our little farm — it means more than you know.

Small farms teach you the difference between abundance and enough.
Some weeks we’re overflowing with eggs, produce, or energy.
Other weeks we’re just maintaining, tending, checking, breathing.

And honestly?
There’s beauty in both.

The world pushes constant productivity, but the farm reminds me that “enough” is a perfectly valid season.

Even in spring, hens can drop production fast.
Weather swings, stress, daylight changes, or even a mini‑molt can throw them off.
They’re tiny feathered divas with very specific opinions about conditions.

Tonight’s chores were simple: a slow walk through the yard, a quick peek at the rabbits in their suspended cages, and a headcount of sleepy hens settling onto their roosts.

The air was warm, the sky soft, and the whole place felt like it finally exhaled after a long week.
No rush. No noise. Just the rhythm of animals winding down for the night.

These quiet check‑ins are some of my favorite moments on the farm — the kind that remind you that peace doesn’t have to be big or dramatic. Sometimes it’s just a calm yard and everyone tucked in where they belong.
