A new chapter for the Hulman Memorial Student Union is on the way! 💙🎉

Indiana State University has received approval for a $4.2 million renovation project that will transform the Commons area of the HMSU into a more modern, flexible, and student-centered space designed to strengthen the student experience at the heart of campus.

The project will include updated gathering spaces, improvements to dining operations, and a new bookstore location — all aimed at creating more opportunities for connection, collaboration, and campus engagement for Sycamores.

Construction is expected to begin later this summer, with the renovated Commons anticipated to open for the Spring 2027 semester.
