Great times at Chelby’s in Manchester, NH with my brother, John Stassis. Every Thursday night is Greek night at Chelby’s. This was my second trip here this month.

We started off with side Greek Salads 🥗 They use imported Greek Olive oil in their house dressing👌🏼 Then we split an order of Stuffed Grape Leaves in Lemon Sauce, a Spinach Cheese Pie (Spanakopita), and a Pastichio. Then we each had a lamb shank dinner.

We were both full and happy but before we could ask for the check the owner treated us to dessert and let us know all the desserts are from Greece. It reminded me of how my Yaya used to keep bringing me more and more food when I was a chubby Greek kid… There was baklava, chocolate mousse cake and orange sponge cake (portokalopita) which won the prize 🍊🏆 it was amazing.

The Lamb shank here is better than most Greek restaurants. And I say that with the outmost confidence.

Cutlet was pounded out nice and thin
Linguini was cooked on time (not al dente)

I’m hardly ever in this area, so I’m glad I could finally stop in to their new spot on the beach.

“Sorrento’s Pizza” - White Pizza with grilled chicken, broccoli florets and a lemon-black pepper Alfredo sauce. This pizza is named after the business. It’s their flagship pizza. I had high expectations. I was both thrilled and disappointed at the same time...

They have a beautiful wood fired oven that cooks the bum perfectly. You can smell the wood burning from outside. Signature flat crust with no air and about an inch and a half of it all around. A bit too much crust for my liking and they use a lot of semolina. Awesome bake tho. Nice and thin. No flop. Leopard spotting on the pizza bum🍑

The Chicken was cooked all the way through but was bland. They use nice chunks of white meat chicken which are good quality. Broccoli was nice and crisp🥦 Even topping distribution. The chicken belongs under the mozz cheese IMHO to keep it from drying out.

Lemon-Pepper Alfredo sauce was tasty but there wasn’t enough of it, so it lacked flavor🤷🏻‍♂️ Silver lining: it’s a light pizza that’s thin and crispy.

All in all this is a great pizza for the thin crust lovers like myself and for those on a diet, also like myself. I will ask for extra sauce next time. A little salt & pepper on the chicken would go a long way. Perfect bake. I could eat this pizza every day.
