🌸June in the Garden🌸
The garden has officially hit its stride. After months of planning, seed starting and waiting, the beds are filling in fast and beginning to look like the cutting garden I’ve dreamed about.
One of the things I’m most excited about this season is our new flower stand. A talented friend is building it for us, and I can’t wait to see it come to life. Knowing that bouquets will soon be finding their way into the hands of neighbors and visitors makes all the hard work feel worthwhile.
More than 300 dahlias are now planted and growing strong. If all goes well, they’ll begin putting on a show in August, filling bouquets with the colors and textures that made me fall in love with growing flowers in the first place.
This year I’m also trying something new: roses. As a first-time rose grower, I’ve spent plenty of time researching, planting, and learning as I go. I’m excited to see how they settle into the garden and hopefully become a beautiful addition to future bouquets.
We’re hoping to open the stand for the season in July, featuring zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, herbs, lavender, and whatever else decides to bloom along the way. Then, as summer unfolds, the dahlias will take center stage and the stand will fill up!
If you have a bridal shower, baby shower, small gathering, or special event coming up this summer, I’d love to be considered. Because Petal by Petal is a small-scale garden, I can only take on a limited number of custom orders each season.
For now, it’s a season of watering, weeding, and watching everything grow. Every day brings something new, and I couldn’t be more
grateful to share the journey with all of you.
