May is mental health awareness and we want to spotlight an organization that supports mental health year-round.
Family Crisis Centers helps people across Iowa cope with the physical and emotional effects of violence and harm. Their work often includes support related to domestic violence, human trafficking, homicide, other violent crimes, and family situations where children need safe, structured time with a parent. When people are believed, given options, and walked with through their hardest moments, healing becomes possible. Research shows that when support is given to someone who is in trauma, it significantly reduces their risk of development PTSD. Family Crisis Centers is honored to serve in this role.
Five years ago, our Vice President of Supply Chain, Matt Nice, joined the Family Crisis Centers Board of Directors, where he now serves as their VP. Matt has been instrumental in helping raise funds for the Renewed Hope Thrift Store, which provides clothing and essential items to individuals they serve while also generating ongoing funds to support Family Crisis Centers’ mission.
Mental health is one of our philanthropic pillars and we are proud to support Family Crisis Centers, providing funds to help both staff and the people they serve expand access to mental health resources.
