LONG-STANDING THOMPSON CATERING BUSINESS WILL BE UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AFTER 24 YEARS!
G-SEVEN CATERING, a long-standing and highly-regarded catering business in Northeastern Connecticut has been sold! Jason and Amy St Onge have announced to NENR that after 24 years being in business as one of the region's top caters, they have sold their Thompson business and property to Chef, Alex Mayo of Killingly and his partner Kevin Lewis. Chef Mayo graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a Bachelor's Degree in Food Service Management and has honed his food skills locally, as well as in North Carolina and Vermont. He is excited by the new business venture and opportunity given to take the reins to carry on the G-Seven Catering legacy. Though the official hand over of the business will transact on September 1st, Jason St Onge has agreed to stay on site for one month to serve as a mentor to Chef Mayo to help with logistics and ensure a smooth transition of ownership. Quality, value and excellent customer service has always been the trademark of this Thompson-rooted business and The St Onges' look for Chef Mayo to continue with the standards that have been synonymous with the reputation of G-Seven Caters.
A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM:
JASON AND AMY ST. ONGE
September 1 will mark the final day of ownership for Amy and I. We have carried on a legacy that dates back more than 40 years in the Mechanicsville section of Thompson, taking the reins from Larry Groh Sr. on September 1, 2002.
We have loved our time at G Seven. Over the years, we have forged lasting relationships with other local businesses, been involved in more than 300 weddings, celebrated births, anniversaries and graduations, and helped families mourn the loss of loved ones. Every day has been an adventure, with stories all its own. We want to thank our loyal patrons who have made this journey possible, without them, there would not have been a G- Seven.”
To celebrate the closing of this chapter in our lives, and the beginning of a new one, we would like to invite everyone to come enjoy 'lunch on the house' at G Seven Catering in the Mechanicsville section of Thompson ~ 139 Riverside Drive on Monday, September 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Don't forget to save the date). Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and soft drinks will be complimentary and available through our pickup area. Guests can simply drive through, grab a bite, and say hello! Come celebrate with us (Amy is away), welcome the new owners, and say farewell (we are relocating to North Carolina) as a new era begins at G Seven Catering.
Thank You,
Jason & Amy St Onge
