Linden Hill Farm Linden Hill Farm Linden Hill Farm is owned and operated by Mary Walk and is located 5 miles south of Thompson, Iowa. Payment is an honor system lock box.

The farmstand is open 24/7 from mid May through late October. No change is available unless I'm home. I use natural production methods such as crop rotation, compost and organic fertilizers. We all know the taste difference between a store bought tomato and a homegrown one, and that applies to all vegetables. You'll get the freshest, best tasting produce available. Plus you have the advantage of knowing where it was grown and who grew it. You can even walk around the farm and see how everything is grown!!

Ive been so busy I forgot to post! Its a Super Saturday!!
The last of the tomatoes until next August are in stand along with the last box of canning tomatoes. Get them while they're here!
Carrots, a few green peppers, both red and white potatoes, butternut, acorn, delicata, carnival and spaghetti squash too!
Along with farm fresh eggs for your fall baking, honey for that tickle in your throat and garlic dill pickles just cause they are so darned good!!
Make it a fresh, local weekend!!

A quick get away last week to see the Wizard but now back at it!
Tomatoes are done for the year but still have plenty of fall produce.
Peppers, Carrots, butternut, acorn, delicata, carnival and spaghetti squash, LOTS of potatoes, local honey, garlic dill pickles and farm fresh eggs for all your fall baking.

September is National Honey Month. I had the opportunity to watch Wunder Hives(where the honey in the farmstand comes from) harvest their honey today.
After taking the honey-filled frames out of the hive, the wax capped honey comb needs to be opened so they honey can come out. The frames are then put into a spinner that pulls out the honey.
The honey is filtered at least 3 times to get remaining pieces of wax out before its bottled.
The empty honey comb frames are then put back into a hive for the bees to start the honey making process all over.
Really a fascinating process and ALOT of time and work but so worth it to get that sweet goodness!

All the rain we have had hasn't done the tomatoes any favors🫤.
Because of that....the tomatoes season is quickly coming to an end.
If you are on the fence about preserving...jump on it now.
Also fresh eating tomatoes wont looks as pretty as they have been. But the tops have to be cut off anyway and they still taste great!

Still have tomatoes both fresh eating and for freezing or canning.

Its Fresh Friday! Farmstand is stocked and readyfor your weekend menu!
Probably the last week for green beans. Lots of freshly dug potatoes, carrots. Peppers - green, jalapeno, Serrano and habenero. Slicers tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and a box of canning/freezing tomatoes. A couple watermelon.
Farm fresh eggs, garlic dill pickles and local honey.
Sqaush is coming next week!
Lets make this a fresh weekend!
