We had a sweet family drive all the way from Charleston yesterday to pick up a trunk full of milk.

They moved away a couple of years ago and haven’t been able to find milk that lasts more than a few days. Knowing they thought enough of our milk to make the trip back to Thomson means a lot.

Moments like this make all the hard work worth it. Thank you for supporting our little farm.

1.5 gallons of milk made a big batch of yogurt and left behind over ½ gallon of whey. With the whey we started our lacto-fermentated lemonade. In this hot humid weather it will be so refreshing! I love how versatile raw milk is. It’s also VERY forgiving. I started the yogurt Friday morning… and just remembered it this morning. It’s perfect. Recipe in comments🤦🏼‍♀️🤌🏼🍋

Phineas is doing much better this morning, though his poor face is all swollen. Amazingly, they think he’ll be coming home today. He’s very sore, but he’s able to walk and potty. He is a very lucky boy.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. 🥹

This reel had a totally different vibe yesterday. How quickly life can change. Hug your loved ones. On the bright side no broken bones, chalking that up to the raw milk he’s been drinking his whole life.

It’s been an emotional roller coaster here. Last night, Phineas decided to go toe-to-toe with what we believe was a coyote. He is extremely lucky to be alive. He suffered fractured ribs and a pneumothorax. His neck is very sore, and my sweet boy is pretty depressed. He is walking and even ate the burger we brought him — all very promising signs.

We are so thankful for our amazing vet, Dr. Sails. If you’re in the CSRA, Rodgers Veterinary Services is the place to take your fur babies. 💕🙏😭

We’ve been noticing this for a while now — our ladies are producing some seriously rich milk. Jerseys are famous for their high butterfat content, but spring milk always seems to take it to another level. 🌱

Fresh spring grass, cool nights, and growing pasture can naturally increase butterfat and give milk that beautiful thick cream line. This is the kind of milk that makes incredible butter, cream, yogurt, ice cream, and cheese. Interesting tidbit the reason you see the butter on the cup is the temperature difference between the milk and the cup when you pour. The warm glass causes the fat to cling to it🤯 🌈⭐️
