There’s only a few things I will never say no to, and one of those is Baked Alaska. We were at Davio’s in the Boston Seaport a few weeks ago and when our waiter began rolling over the dessert cart, I could see it from across the room. I was so torn. I wanted to say yes so badly but I was stuffed from dinner, and so I declined.
Fast forward and that damn Baked Alaska has been living rent free in my head ever since. With the rain and the laziness of today’s Nor’easter, I had to give it a go.
I’m trying French vanilla, black raspberry and chocolate ice creams with an angel food cake base. Tomorrow, I’ll dress it in merengue, toast the tips with a culinary torch and bake for a few minutes before serving for dessert.
