We regret to announce that our lavender farm will not be offering U-pick this year. We have had massive crop failure and are currently evaluating our goals and which direction we want to take the farm. Unfortunately, we will be suspending all on-farm visits and activities until further notice. Thank you to all who have been so supportive in our farming endeavors.

Finished the apiary inspection. Overall, pretty good. They’re filling out the foundationless frames beautifully. A little concerned that one hive had several queen cells (pictured). We are super excited to have caught a new swarm in one of our traps. It was a pretty sizable swarm so we’re really hopeful that it sticks around!

Todays hive inspection was a mixed experience. On one hand, I learned that the bees are utilizing the new the way they are supposed to. On the other, I got my first bee sting of the season and dropped a frame of bees (the two incidences are absolutely related). Still hoping to get some fall honey from our apiary this year.
