✨ A GREAT WAY TO WRAP UP THE 2026 SHOW SEASON! ✨

We headed to Fresno, California, for our final show of the year with a pretty simple plan — hopefully secure that elusive dry leg for our Recorded Grade dry yearling and keep things as quick and easy as possible for us tired humans! 😅

After falling just one or two animals short of sanction throughout the season, we were determined to give Windy Hill Ranch Vanilla Bean one last opportunity. We also decided to bring along Wingwood Farm Dill Amethyst, an aged Nubian doe who had never set foot in a show ring.

Amethyst is an absolute powerhouse of a milker who has truly blossomed over the past year and a half since arriving here from out of state. Despite the extreme heat leading up to the show, the stress of her first show experience, and competing with a mammary system only half full, Amethyst was named Reserve Grand Champion Senior Doe! We couldn't be more pleased with how she presented herself under less than ideal circumstances.

And as for that elusive dry leg…

Windy Hill Ranch Vanilla Bean was named Grand Champion in a large, competitive showing of beautiful Recorded Grades, our girl finally secured that dry leg. 🙌

Another highlight of the weekend came from animals we didn't even bring!

Since we left our nubian show team at home, we were thrilled when Morgan, who purchased a pair of doelings from us earlier this year, asked me to help show her girls. Both looked absolutely fabulous and went on to earn Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Junior Doe! 🏆

Congratulations, Morgan! There are few things more rewarding as a breeder than seeing animals we've bred thriving and excelling in their new homes. Thank you for the exceptional care and management you've provided these girls, allowing them to develop and reach their potential. Seeing them looking so well and succeeding in the ring was certainly a highlight of our weekend!

What was intended to be a quick, low key final show turned into a pretty memorable day. We couldn't be more pleased with the results, both from the animals in our own herd and those representing our breeding program in the hands of others.

Continuing our herd sire introductions, we’re featuring one of our junior bucks…

🪄 Windy Hill Ranch Hocus Pocus 🪄

Hocus Pocus is a young buck who has impressed us from an early age with his beautiful general appearance and overall correctness.

He is long, well balanced with a strong, level topline and rump. He stands on an excellent set of feet and legs with correct angulation. We especially appreciate his smoothness of blending, dairy strength, and the combination of substance and refinement he exhibits at such a young age.

Hocus Pocus also has generations of exceptional animals behind him. And while he may be one of the younger boys in the buck pen, he certainly didn’t need much instruction when breeding season arrived! 😅 He’s already covered a handful of does and apparently takes his new responsibilities quite seriously.

We’re excited to watch this young buck continue to develop and look forward to seeing what he contributes to the next generation here.

We’ve been busy updating our website and have recently added quite a few new photos and most of our 2026 keeper kids!

There's a running joke around the farm...

Some people collect shoes. Some people collect cars.

Apparently, I collect bucks. 😅

To be fair, every buck standing in our barn has earned his place. Each one brings something valuable to our breeding program—whether it's production, structural correctness, or simply a pedigree that gets us excited about the future.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be introducing some of the bucks being used for our 2026 breeding season.

Fair warning... there are quite a few of them. 😅

✨ FIRST UP — WINGWOOD FARM COOL AIMOIN ✨

Aimoin is a young buck we are excited to have working in our herd this season.

He is out of the lovely Wingwood Farm Leo Amandine and sired by Wingwood Farm Flyin Attitude.

Amandine is a beautiful 3 year old doe with a well balanced mammary system, including great attachments and lovely teat placement, as well as overall correctness in type. She is the kind of doe we are excited to see behind a young herd sire.

On the paternal side, Attitude has a plethora of exceptional daughters working in a number of different herds. We've admired many of them, and seeing the quality and consistency he has produced made the opportunity to bring those genetics into our own program particularly exciting.

We're excited to see what Aimoin produces for us this season!

While we are currently sold out of 2026 kids, kidding season isn't over just yet!

We still have 11 does left to kid (😵‍💫☕ Yes... send coffee!), and while we've retained a significant number of doe kids for our own breeding program this year, we do anticipate making a select handful of these upcoming kids available.

Our website has also been updated with our current breeding list, including the does still due to kid this season.

If you've been hoping to add quality genetics to your herd, we encourage you to keep an eye on our page for announcements as these kids arrive and are evaluated. You're also welcome to send us a message to discuss your goals and be added to our list of interested buyers.
