With some exciting changes/additions in the pipeline, we have decided to offer a few doe kids for sale this year! All are out of our buck, DRMP FLASHY LITTLE TANK (pictured in comments) and have been living outside on pasture full time. They were not prepped for photos, and appear as they are 😃.

We will also be offering a 5-year-old doe and potentially a yearling.

Tag 53 is very feminine through her head and front quarter. She is out of our oldest doe, Marion, who has won a few banners over her show career and is one the first goats we offered in our lease program. We have retained many of her doe kids over the years, and made the decision to offer both from this year (the other has already relocated).

Tag 55 is out of Daphne, another of our lease goats. Daphne is an easy keeper and has great maternal instincts, and has always kidded and nursed unassisted. We have her full sister from last year's season, and are happy to keep this one as well!

This doe is 75%, however we will not be registering her due to a vertical fold in her right ear (that I somehow didn't notice early enough to try correcting 🤦‍♀️). This is our first vertical fold in quite a few years.
Tag 57 is a powerful doe, for the bit of grain the group shares. She can make a good producer or show as a commercial doe. Her dam, Debbie, won Champion Boer Doe at the show she attended most recently, and quite a few banners before that. Debbie has great maternal instincts, and has always kidded and nursed unassisted.

We have one bottle buck available! "Pumpkin" is looking for someone with other bottle kids or kids of similar ages. His buddy will be leaving this week, so we would like for him to find a new home ASAP.

Born on January 19th and takes the bottle great! He was pulled as the smallest triplet, as we prefer does only raise two kids. PM for more info.

I realized I never shared results from Hereford Jr Farm Fair this past August! This was our largest group of "lease kids" to attend a single show yet, with 5 exhibitors from Curtis Mill Farm.

Our first-year showman, Erin, is deserving of a special shoutout. She showed great compassion and perseverance following the extremely unexpected passing of her goat only 3 days before the show. After reviewing a few options, she made the decision to take Debbie to the show, who can be quite stubborn and much larger than her Intermediate Doe. Erin and Debbie's fantastic results are included below!

While I have been slacking in the Facebook department this year, we have been working hard behind the scenes and have made a BIG move to Thurmont, Maryland!

The goats aren't too sure about the wolves 🐺 howling at the neighboring zoo, but we are so excited about this new chapter and the future of Curtis Mill Farm.

Congratulations to Kendall for a very successful week at Baltimore County 4-H Fair! This was her first time exhibiting any livestock and she did a great job 🐐.

SUPER FUN FACT: Kendall was the first person to exhibit meat goats as an FFA member at this fair in over 50 years! Hereford High Agriculture & FFA

🎪 Our first round of shows was last week! Three of our "lease kids" and Carlee travelled to Mason Dixon Fair. Everyone did a great job despite the hot and stormy conditions, and we couldn't ask for a better group of families to join us at this fun-filled 2-day exhibition!
