We’ve got a most luxurious kind of day today. It may be the last of its kind until next time around.

There are still flowers to enjoy. The shack will be open tomorrow. Let me know if you’d like some today. I’ll be out there lallygagging, as today demands.

If you’re squeamish at all about insects and nature, don’t watch this

I can’t help but wonder what David Attenborough would be narrating.

Bees often fall asleep and die this time of year in the center of dahlias. It’s a choice way to go.

My story is this bee had already passed and I caught the clean up crew. Obviously, it’s a cross between a rhinoceros, vulture and stink bug. It didn’t seem to have much of a plan after getting the bee to the side of the flower, and I felt kind of rude with the camera in its business.

It’s a wonder!

What a lovely summer!

There are still dahlias to enjoy. Let me know if you’d like some in the next couple days.

If you’re interested in flowers in our off season, I am able to source from other places and make something.
