These were tester garlands I made 2 days ago. They were hanging inside, still fresh looking, but they did lose some volume while they are drying. I like how they look outside and this windy day will test them well!

Using marigolds for garland. I’m going to let them hang and see how they last.
So far they’re making the room feel nice. I’ll let you know how far they make it.
Last week I thought the season was over, but then I went out in the field and this happened. At least one more day of fresh flowers 😁

This time of year, I really need to switch gears and focus on cleaning up and getting ready for spring. There’s still a lot of beauty to look at though, so we’ll see what happens.

This morning was very fun. A little hot, too. Thanks to everybody that came out. This has the potential to make a lot of smiles. Maybe that’s what it’s all for. I will be here until about 3:30 Friday making bouquets. It’s kind of nice in the barn with a breeze. If you feel like having a little fun you’re welcome to join until then! Farm update: Yarrow looks good! Otherwise I’m way behind my goals for the summer. I’m learning and that’s just how it goes. I’m behind because of the weather. I’m also behind because I made some great mistakes with seedlings. The kind of mistakes that need to be made so they won’t be made again. Good mistakes. Right? Now waiting to see if anyone blooms. Summer views on winter days. We’re supposed to get a good snowstorm this week. I’m pretty excited. I love a good snowstorm. I get to touch and organize and plan all the seeds now. I’ll sow them soon, but last year I started them a little too soon, so I am trying to have some discipline. There’s something about holding a seed packet with all of the potential energy in there. Good stuff. If you’re a local floral designer and would like to work closely with a farmer, let me know. I think collaboration about what to grow would be fun, and I would love to grow the flowers knowing the kind of enjoyment they are headed for. Music: Talking Heads - Nothing But Flowers
