The River Barn now has its first local farm product vendor! 'Holly Tree Honey' from right here in Tillamook brought me their honey and here is the sweet display I made, for just starting out. It could be very interesting to expand slowly, finding lovely local products and making them available here. We'll see how it goes.

I'm cleaning and packing the last of my Aronia berries today and will be freezing the gallon bags soon. If you want the fresh organic berries, they are $35. each for the bags, which weigh about 5 - 5 1/2 lbs. After today they will be available frozen for the same price. They are grown organically here on my Tillamook farm.
The Pint bottles of organically grown, cold pressed, fresh frozen juice are available for $12.50. Both the frozen berries and the juice are available during my River Barn Nursery open hours, between 10 and 5 Thurs, Fri and Sat. You can try the juice for $2. a shot there.. see how you like it!
Aronia berries are about the healthiest food on the planet with 10x the antioxidants that blueberries have. The juice of these berries is very concentrated because of their dense texture. People typically dilute it with water, seltzer or another juice before consuming. The cold pressed juice is sweet and delicious.

Picking, cleaning, freezing and now juicing, bottling, labeling and freezing again, the cold pressed Aronia berry juice. A truely rediculous amount of work to create a truely extraordinary delicacy that is next to unavailable anywhere but here. It is a raw organic nutritional source of all kinds of remarkable health benefits and it tastes so very rich and sweet. It has taken me nearly a third of my life to achieve this unlikely accomplishment, while facing a family and community that couldn't imagine why I'd bother.
As I yet again bury myself in the fields of bushes picking the remarkable berries, I feel so blessed to have found them. They are uniquely mine - my vision, my work... I did this!
