Looking for new chicken parents for my flock of 6, 14 mo olds. 3 Orpington mix and 3 Olive Egger mix. One is an Orpington mix rooster who is pleasant and unaggresive. All hens are good layers tho 2 are getting a little broody the last 3 days.
They have been fed organically from the beginning and been free ranged during the day. They are all very sweet. I haven't handled them so they're not into hugs. One of the Olive eggers has a rough patch on her back right now.. I am sprinkling diatamaceous earth on it and giving the flock 'Flock Armor' daily. They have a really quality diet that includes all manner of healthy treats daily..and they are a sturdy feather footed bunch.
$125 for the chickens. You would need to take all 6. If you want all the other stuff, feeders and waterers, chick warming plate, bags of organic good quality feed, and lots of other stuff its an additional $150.... Everything you need but the coup.

Our intrepid group of 5 finished out the 3 event 'Art Jam' in fit form today. We really had a wonderful time, telling life stories, drinking hot spicy tea and eating watermelon. It was the general consensus that this was a really good way to spend an afternoon.
All in all 23 paintings were created.
In the next few weeks I will announce the 'gallery open house' date where all the pieces will be hung and available for purchase.
The proceeds from those sales will go towards supporting a live musical performance, taking advantage of the superior River Barn accoustics.

Alex and I just finished juicing 30 pints of Aronia juice! That is the best juice I can think of. Cold pressed it is amazing.

Just around the corner now! June 7th, from 3-6 we'll be meeting up in the barn again for the final 'Pass it to the Left' Art Jam🎨!
It's been a pretty fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon with friends! All supplies are provided, it's free... just bring a snack to share. We'll see what this final gathering of creativity produces when we pass the work we were doing to the left every 10 minutes and make our contributions to the pieces of artwork.

Ready for gravel tomorrow. Soon there'll be a new home for 'Riverside Succulents.'
You'll be able to stop by the River Barn and create your own succulent planters, get something yummy made from my Aronia Berries, and even dabble around with rock painting and whatnot.

My son Alex and I planted my big pile of Dahlia tubers.. new and the ones I grew last year.. well over 100 of 12 varieties.. (they sure do multiply quickly!)
The soil was relatively dry and warm and now, the next 4 days of gentle rains are going to be so perfect.
I just can't imagine what my garden is gonna look like come August!!!!
The picture is of Mark's Old House Dahlias last August, who I have gotten all my stock from.
