Rainy Memorial Day plans? ☔️🇺🇸

Spend the day at the orchard and cozy up in our Greenhouse event space while enjoying the orchard views, rain or shine. Bring your own lunch, relax with family and friends, and stop by the Old Hill Cider tasting room, open 11–5, for cider flights, glasses, and bottles.

This Memorial Day, we also pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This spring has been one for the books. Late freezes rolled through right when the trees were at their most vulnerable, and the damage across the orchard tells the story better than words ever could.

Same orchard. Same care. One side of the hill is loaded with apples… while on the other side, there are rows with hardly any at all.

Farming is humbling like that. A few degrees, a little elevation change, and everything can look completely different. We’re incredibly thankful we will still have apples this season, even if the crop is lighter in some areas than others.

These photos are a reminder of how much weather shapes every harvest… and how resilient these trees really are!

✨ The Cider House ✨

Tucked beside the first row of Summer Rambo apple trees, the Old Hill Cider House is a charming retreat surrounded by the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. Originally the farm wash house, this bright and airy cottage now features clerestory windows, cozy touches, and breathtaking orchard views.

Spend evenings relaxing on the brick patio beneath towering oak trees, gathering around the fire pit, or enjoying cider from the on-site Old Hill Cidery tasting room. The perfect peaceful getaway awaits!

Who remembers when we grew hydroponic lettuce in our greenhouse? Those were the days. 🥬

We loved experimenting, learning as we went, and watching rows of fresh lettuce grow right before our eyes. It may not have become a permanent part of the farm, but it is one of those chapters we will always look back on fondly.

Sometimes the best memories come from trying something new!
